Above & Beyond’s performance at Cercle in Guatapé in 2022 showcased their mastery in crafting atmospheric trance within a breathtaking natural setting. Held in Guatapé, Colombia, against the backdrop of the El Peñón rock, surrounded by a lake and lush green hills, the British trance duo, renowned for their melodic sound blending progressive house and trance elements, delivered a set brimming with emotion and energy. Comprised of Jonathan Grant and Paavo Siljamäki, Above & Beyond performed tracks where each beat resonated like a reflection of the surrounding nature, creating a harmonious balance between music and landscape. In 2022, the duo was promoting their album "We Are All We Need" (2015), a landmark in their career, and the set included tracks from that record alongside newer works, highlighting their creative evolution. The rendition of "Sun & Moon" stood out for its emotional depth, with live elements adding a special richness to the set. Formed in London in 2000, Above & Beyond gained fame through their label Anjunabeats, which became a platform for many trance artists. Cercle, known for its performances in unique locations, provided a fitting stage for this show, reflecting Above & Beyond’s ability to create music that captivates listeners.
