Avril Lavigne delivered a potent dose of pop-punk nostalgia and modern energy at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on September 24, 2022. Taking the stage at AREA15, the Canadian singer reaffirmed her iconic status, bridging two decades of her career with a setlist that catered to longtime fans and new listeners alike. The performance was a highlight of the festival's Daytime Stage, showcasing Lavigne's unwavering stage presence.
The show kicked off with the rebellious anthem "Girlfriend," immediately igniting the crowd with one of her most recognizable hits. Seamlessly transitioning from her classic 2000s era, she also performed "Bite Me," a track from her 2022 album "Love Sux." This blend of old and new demonstrated her lasting influence on the genre she helped popularize. Throughout the set, which also included fan favorites like "My Happy Ending" and the iconic "Sk8er Boi," Lavigne commanded the stage with the same spirited attitude that first made her a global star, proving that her impact on pop-punk is as relevant as ever.
