Behemoth — Live Concert at Brutal Assault Festival, Josefov Fortress, Czech Republic, 2016

In August 2016, Polish black/death metal band Behemoth—genre pioneers with The Satanist (2014), earning a Grammy nomination and over 500,000 copies sold—performed at Brutal Assault, one of Europe's leading heavy music festivals launched in 1996 at Josefov Fortress, Czech Republic, sharing the bill with Ministry and Exodus before 20,000 attendees. The 90-minute main stage performance, captured professionally and later included in the Messe Noire (2018) release, embodied the The Satanist tour climax, where Adam "Nergal" Darski's aggressive riffs merged with Zbigniew "Inferno" Promiński's drum power and theatrical elements to spark collective ecstasy under summer skies. Featuring tracks like "Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel", "Ora Pro Nobis Lucifer", and "O Father O Satan O Sun!", this show highlighted their leadership in modern extreme metal, turning the fortress into a realm of rebellion and unity.
