Biffy Clyro played a stripped-back acoustic set at St John at Hackney Church in East London on March 10, 2022, for Radio X Presents with Barclaycard. The show had first been scheduled for January 18 and was moved to March, just ahead of the band’s European tour. Simon Neil and twin brothers James and Ben Johnston, who formed the band in Kilmarnock, Scotland, in 1995, mixed recent songs with older favorites in the church’s high-ceilinged nave. The set includes “Haru Urara,” “Black Chandelier,” “Tiny Indoor Fireworks,” “Opposite,” “Re-Arrange” and “Many of Horror.” Stripped of their usual loud, layered arrangements, songs like “Many of Horror” and “Re-Arrange” put the focus on Neil’s voice and the band’s harmonies.
