In the intimate and revered space of BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge, global superstars Coldplay delivered a special performance in October 2021. Stripping away their usual stadium-sized production, the band offered a rare, up-close look at their musicianship just weeks after the release of their ambitious album, "Music of the Spheres." This session captures the group in a moment of creative transition, blending their new, cosmic-themed sound with the timeless emotional core that has defined their career.
The setlist for this appearance was a thoughtful mix of old and new. They performed "My Universe," their chart-topping collaboration with BTS, and the tender "Human Heart," both from the new album. These were beautifully balanced by a heartfelt rendition of their classic ballad, "The Scientist." True to the Live Lounge tradition, Coldplay also delivered a surprise cover, taking on PinkPantheress's viral hit "Just For Me." Their interpretation of the track showcased their versatility and willingness to engage with the contemporary music landscape, making this session a memorable snapshot of the band's enduring relevance and artistry.
