Cory Wong turned London’s Islington Assembly Hall into a funk sanctuary on February 23, 2023, delivering a night where groove reigned supreme. The Minneapolis guitar wizard, famed with Vulfpeck, had already lit up the scene with "The Syncopated Life" (2021), but this set pulsed with "Power Station" (2022). His sound—crisp riffs, thumping bass, and jazz flares—struck like a heartbeat. "Flyers Direct" anchored the show, its bouncy rhythm and radiant energy letting Wong’s guitar soar like a live wire. "Power Station," rich with collabs and soulful sparks, showcased his live prowess. His fingers danced over the strings with effortless grace, the band locked in tight. London’s stage ignited under his spell: the room shook with cheers, lights syncing to the beat. It wasn’t just a gig—it was a rhythmic revelry, every note ringing with freedom and joy, leaving a glow in the chilly English night.
