In April 2024, at Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California—America's top country event launched in 2007 as Coachella's "sibling" emphasizing country and crossovers—Diplo (Thomas Wesley Pentz), Mad Decent co-founder and tropical house pioneer with hits like "Lean On" (2015), took the Palomino Stage under his country alias Thomas Wesley with a themed set weaving EDM drops into cowboy aesthetics. The hour-long performance, brimming with throbbing beats and visual quirks like line dancing and pole dancing, captured the artist's eccentricity, where house rhythms merged with folk motifs to spark euphoria among tens of thousands under desert sun. As part of his "Higher Ground" series, this show highlighted Diplo's crossover vision, turning a country arena into a chaotic oasis.
