In 2023, the French reggae ensemble Dub Inc—whose outputs like Paradise (2013) blend roots with dub and rap in French, English, and Kabyle—brought their signature vibrant sound to California Roots, the premier roots music festival in Monterey, where their full set emerged as a standout of the day. The hour-long showcase opened with the upbeat "Rude Boy Boy," flowing into the anti-war "Day After Day" and "No Doubt" featuring guest vocals, the anti-globalist "Diversity," and closing with "Tout ce qu'ils veulent" amid applause, highlighting the lyrical sharpness and festival rapport. Devotees and reviewers hail this performance as a zenith of their U.S. tour, affirming the band's bridge between classic reggae and contemporary fusion with millions of streams.
