In June 2024, British pop singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran—whose albums like +–=÷× (2021), with over 5 million copies sold, trace his shift from folk-acoustics to orchestrated stadium sound—headlined day two of Pinkpop, Europe’s oldest annual festival launched in 1970 in Landgraaf, Netherlands, capping a lineup with Green Day and Dua Lipa. The 90-minute set, performed with a sparse band and loop pedal, highlighted the intimate power of his voice and emotive lyrics on love and vulnerability, blending ballads into festival anthems to spark euphoria among tens of thousands under summer sun. As part of his global tour, this show underscored Sheeran’s minimalist charisma, turning a rock-heavy arena into a space of genuine connection.
