In the heart of Paris, against the backdrop of a global call to action, Ed Sheeran delivered a masterful headlining set for Global Citizen Live in 2021. Armed with little more than his acoustic guitar and his signature loop pedal station, the British singer-songwriter captivated a massive festival audience with the intimacy and raw energy that have defined his career. This performance was a testament to his unique ability to make a stadium feel like a cozy pub, transforming a grand stage into a personal showcase of his craft.
The setlist was a perfectly curated journey through his discography, blending fresh material with timeless fan favorites. He treated the Parisian crowd to early tastes of his album '=', performing the infectious hits 'Bad Habits' and 'Shivers' with the same passion as his established anthems. Classics like 'Thinking Out Loud' and 'Perfect' prompted massive singalongs, while a powerful, loop-driven rendition of 'Bloodstream' showcased his incredible musicianship and rhythmic command. Closing with the universally beloved 'Shape of You,' Sheeran proved once again why he is one of the world's most compelling live performers, capable of uniting thousands of voices with just a few chords and an honest melody.
