In February 2023, Swiss indie-rock band Ellis Mano Band—formed in Zurich in 2019 under Chris Ellis's leadership and honing an energetic sound with garage punk edges on Morph (2024)—recorded an intimate set at Powerplay Studios in Maur, the legendary facility where the Powerplay Nights series crafts live-to-tape albums into collectible vinyls sold at gigs. Their 40-minute performance, brimming with raw riffs and Ellis's emotive delivery, captured the band's nascent era, where garage drive merged with melodic bridges to forge conversational closeness in the studio milieu. Later issued as Volume 6, this session underscored the group's role as Swiss indie innovators, elevating underground essence to artifact status.
