In February 2023, Australian psychedelic band Glass Beams—formed in Melbourne in 2020 and known for their masked aesthetic and fusion of indie-rock with Turkish and Indian psychedelia on EP Mirage (2021)—delivered an intimate set for PBS Drive Live, the annual concert series of Melbourne's PBS 106.7FM radio, where their 40-minute performance formed part of the promotion for their second EP Mahal. Recorded in the studio before a small audience, the set embodied their local tour climax, where guitar riffs and synth textures wove a hypnotic flow, underscoring their role as innovators of the Australian indie scene, infusing Eastern motifs with Western scope.
