Gojira — Live Concert at Eurockéennes de Belfort Festival, Belfort, France, 2009

In July 2009, French metal band Gojira—at the peak of their tour supporting The Way of All Flesh (2008), marking a shift to technical death metal with ecological and philosophical themes—performed at Eurockéennes de Belfort, France's oldest rock festival launched in 1989 on the Malsaucy lake peninsula in Belfort as a platform for alternative music emphasizing metal and indie among 40,000 attendees. Their hour-long Grande Scène set, captured in high quality, embodied their European tour climax, where Joe Duplantier's technical riffs merged with Mario Duplantier's drum power to spark collective ecstasy under summer skies. Part of a lineup with Slipknot and Nine Inch Nails, this show highlighted Gojira's genre-innovator role, turning the lakeside into a realm of rebellion and unity.
