In July 2014, French metal band Gojira—at the peak of their tour supporting L'Enfant Sauvage (2012), marking a shift to technical death metal with progressive elements and ecological motifs—performed at Resurrection Fest, an annual extreme music festival launched in 2006 in Viveiro, Galicia, Spain, as a platform for metalcore and death metal among 20,000 attendees on the Cantabrian coast. Their hour-long main stage set, captured in high quality, embodied their European tour climax, where Joe Duplantier's technical riffs merged with Mario Duplantier's drum power to spark collective ecstasy under summer skies. Part of a lineup with Down and Watain, this show highlighted Gojira's genre-innovator role, turning the Galician arena into a realm of rebellion and unity.
