Gorillaz — Live Concert at Rock Werchter Festival, Werchter, Belgium, 2018

In June 2018, virtual band Gorillaz—created by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, whose album Humanz (2017) fused electronics, hip-hop, and indie with guests like Vince Staples and De La Soul, marking a return after a 7-year hiatus—headlined Rock Werchter, one of Europe's largest festivals launched in 1975 in Werchter, Belgium, as a platform for alternative music among 88,000 at Festivalpark. Their 90-minute main stage set, with a live band and animated projections, embodied tour climax, where throbbing beats merged with guest vocals to spark euphoria under summer skies. Part of a lineup with Pearl Jam and Arctic Monkeys, this show highlighted Gorillaz's innovator role, turning the festival grounds into a realm of collective trance.
