In 2023, American pop-punk band Hot Mulligan—from Lansing, Michigan, and known for their emotive emo-pop-punk sound on albums like you'll be fine (2020) and Why Would I Watch (2023)—delivered a session for From The Basement, Nigel Godrich's (Radiohead producer) revived series of intimate no-audience studio recordings. Their 30-minute performance, captured in high quality, embodied their tour climax, where Telle Smith Woodard's aggressive guitar riffs merged with Chris Freeman's emotive vocals to evoke resonance among listeners. Featuring tracks like "BCKYRD", "How Do You Know It's Not Armadillo Shells?", and "Drink Milk and Run", this show highlighted their role as modern pop-punk leaders, turning the studio into a realm of collective catharsis.
