IDLES, the British post-punk band, has been dishing out music since 2017 that hits you square in the chest with fierce guitars and raw, emotional lyrics. Their gig on May 30, 2025, at Primavera Sound in Barcelona was all about keeping the crowd on edge. Joe Talbot sang with such fire, his voice gritty and raging one moment, almost a whisper the next, like he was turning his soul inside out. Lee Bowen and Mark Bowen’s guitars built a wall of sound, while Adam Devon’s bass and Jon Beattie’s drums laid down a rhythm that pulsed like a heartbeat. The lights, flipping from stark white to crimson, played up the mood swings, and the open stage’s acoustics made every note feel real. The crowd, swaying and shouting, became part of this musical whirlwind, dedicated to Palestine.
