In June 2019, Swedish melodic death metal band In Flames—at the peak of their tour supporting I, the Mask (2019), marking a return to aggressive and straightforward sound after industrial experiments—performed at Graspop Metal Meeting, one of Europe's largest heavy music festivals launched in 1996 in Dessel, Belgium. Their 60-minute main stage set on June 23, captured professionally, embodied their European tour climax, where Björn Gelotte's riffs and Anders Fridén's vocals on tracks like "I Am Above", "Voices", and "Take This Life" sparked collective ecstasy among 80,000 under summer skies. Part of a lineup with Slipknot and Within Temptation, this show highlighted In Flames' veteran status, turning the festival grounds into a realm of rebellion and unity.
