In August 2023, Swedish melodic death metal band In Flames—genre pioneers with albums like The Jester Race (1996) and Foregone (2023), marking a return to aggressive sound after industrial experiments—headlined Summer Breeze, one of Europe's leading heavy music festivals launched in 1997 in Dinkelsbühl, Germany, where their August 19 set capped the day alongside Megadeth and Powerwolf. The 90-minute main stage performance, captured professionally, embodied the Foregone Tour climax, where Björn Gelotte's riffs and Anders Fridén's vocals on tracks like "The Beginning of All Things That Will End" and "State of Slow Decay" sparked collective ecstasy among 45,000 under summer skies. This show highlighted their veteran status in melodic death metal, turning the festival grounds into a realm of rebellion and unity.
