In July 2010, British acid jazz band Incognito—led by Jean-Paul "Bluey" Maunick and at the peak of their tour supporting Transatlantic R.P.M. (2010)—performed at Estival Jazz Lugano, a free festival launched in 1984 in Lugano, Switzerland, as a platform for jazz, funk, and soul on Piazza della Riforma among 10,000 attendees. Their 90-minute set (part 1 of the recording), captured in high quality, embodied the European tour climax, where Francis Hylton's funky bass lines merged with vocals from Vanessa Haynes and Tony Momrelle, while brass sections evoked 70s vibes to spark euphoria under summer skies. Featuring tracks like "Always There", "Still a Friend of Mine", and "Don't You Worry 'bout a Thing", this show highlighted Incognito's veteran status in British funk, turning the square into a realm of collective groove.
