In February 2021, American alternative rock band Jimmy Eat World—at the peak of the Phoenix Sessions global stream series during the pandemic—delivered Clarity: Phoenix Sessions, fully performing their cult album Clarity (1999), their third in discography marking a breakthrough with emotive textures and emo/post-punk influences. Recorded at Icehouse, a downtown Phoenix art space, before a limited audience, the 90-minute set embodied Chapter III of the series, where Jim Adkins and Zach Lind's guitar riffs merged with Zach Lind's drum power and Adkins' vocal intensity to evoke emotional resonance for millions online. Featuring tracks like "Lucky Denver Mint", "A Sunday", "Just Watch the Fireworks", and "Goodbye Sky Harbor", this show highlighted their role as 90s–2000s alternative leaders, turning virtual space into a nostalgia portal.
