In July 2025, American blues-rock guitarist Joe Bonamassa—one of the leading modern bluesmen with over 10 million album sales and Grammy nominations—performed a special concert with Metropole Orkest, the Dutch symphonic orchestra from Hilversum renowned for rock and jazz collaborations under conductor Jules Buckley. Their joint set at North Sea Jazz Festival—the world's largest jazz event at Rotterdam Ahoy in the Netherlands—embodied the tour climax, where Bonamassa's technical Gibson Les Paul solos merged with orchestral arrangements to evoke emotional resonance among thousands. Featuring tracks like "Blues Deluxe", "Mountain Time", and "Sloe Gin" in symphonic versions, this show highlighted his role as a bridge between classic blues and orchestral sound, turning the hall into a realm of collective trance.
