On Memorial Day 2021, pop superstar Katy Perry took the stage in Wantagh, New York, for a truly special occasion. Her performance was a headline act for "Side by Side: A Celebration of Service," an event organized by Northwell Health to honor military veterans, active-duty service members, and healthcare heroes. The concert aimed to bring people together in a powerful tribute, and Perry’s set was perfectly suited for the moment.
Delivering a compact but impactful setlist, she performed some of her most uplifting and anthemic hits. The show included powerful renditions of "Roar," "Resilient," and the iconic "Firework." Each song, with its themes of strength, perseverance, and inner light, resonated deeply with the event's purpose of celebrating those who serve. Perry herself expressed her commitment to the cause, highlighting the importance of mental health support for soldiers returning home. Her dynamic stage presence and powerhouse vocals created an atmosphere of both celebration and sincere gratitude, making it a memorable performance for everyone in attendance and those watching the broadcast.
