In October 2024, Texas psychedelic trio Khruangbin—Laura Lee, Mark Speer, and Donald "DJ" Johnson—delivered a festival set at Austin City Limits Music Festival in Zilker Park, Austin, where their American Express Stage performance became one of Weekend One's most atmospheric moments alongside headliners like Dua Lipa and Tyler, the Creator. Captured in high quality, the show caught the band in full hypnotic power: Lee's bass set the pulsing groove, Speer's guitar painted exotic melodies with Thai funk and surf-rock influences, and Johnson's drums added lightness—all without excess words, just instrumental dialogue with the crowd. Opening with "Juegos y Nubes", flowing through "Pon Pon", "Hold Me Up (Thank You)", "So We Won't Forget", and "Time (You and I)", where the audience fully immersed. This gig—pure Khruangbin magic on home Texas soil—turns minimalism into a captivating flow.
