In November 2019, Australian psychedelic rock band King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard—led by Stu Mackenzie and at the peak of their tour supporting Infest the Rats' Nest (2019)—performed at Ancienne Belgique, Brussels' legendary 2,000-capacity venue opened in 1931 as a Belgian alternative scene symbol. Their show became one of the most energetic in the European leg: the band at full strength showcased material from recent releases with their signature mix of thrash-metal, psychedelia, and kraut motors. Captured professionally, the performance caught them in hypnotic form: Amby Kenny-Smith and Cook Craig's guitar riffs backed Michael Cavanagh's drums, while Mackenzie's vocals added mad charm, creating an endless jam feel. This gig—a standout tour moment—proved their mastery of live chaos and invention.
