In October 2024, Australian psychedelic rock band King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard—led by Stu Mackenzie and at the peak of their tour supporting albums like Flight b741 (2024)—performed at Germania Insurance Amphitheater in Austin, a 14,000-capacity open-air venue at Circuit of the Americas. This show became a standout moment of the North American leg, showcasing material from recent releases with their signature mix of garage rock, psychedelia, and kraut motors. Captured professionally as the official bootleg Live in Austin '24 (with soundboard mix and STEMs on Bandcamp), the performance caught them in hypnotic form: Amby Kenny-Smith and Cook Craig's guitar riffs backed Michael Cavanagh's drums, while Mackenzie's vocals added mad charm. The Austin night on home Texas soil—a standout tour moment—proved their mastery of live chaos and invention.
