In May 2025, Australian psychedelic rock band King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard—led by Stu Mackenzie and mid-Europe Residency Tour 2025, a bold three-night-per-city series promoting their 27th album Phantom Island—opened their Lithuanian residency with Night 1 at Lukiškės Prison 2.0 in Vilnius. This 19th-century former prison turned cultural venue perfectly suited their psychedelic chaos: May 29 before thousands (opener King Stingray) unleashed their garage rock, thrash, and kraut motor mix. Captured professionally as part of the official bootleg Live in Lithuania '25 (free Bandcamp release with STEMs), the set caught them at full throttle—Amby Kenny-Smith and Cook Craig's guitar riffs, Michael Cavanagh's drums, Lucas Harwood's bass, and Mackenzie's mad vocals fueling an endless jam, with the crowd roaring in sync. The first of three nights (May 29, 30, 31) set the tour's tone, cementing their invention and chaos mastery amid historic walls.
