In August 2023, Australian psychedelic rock band King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard—led by Stu Mackenzie and at the peak of their tour supporting albums like PetroDragonic Apocalypse (2023)—delivered a festival set at PALP Festival in Brunier, Switzerland, a cozy event in an Alpine valley emphasizing indie, psychedelia, and alternative. Their performance became a day highlight alongside The Brian Jonestown Massacre before thousands under mountain skies. Captured professionally, the show caught the band at full strength: Amby Kenny-Smith and Cook Craig's guitar riffs backed Michael Cavanagh's drums, while Mackenzie's vocals added mad charm. Running through "Hypertension", "The Dripping Tap", "Gaia", "Rattlesnake", and "Head On/Pill"—pure chaos of psychedelic groove with thrash-metal edge, where the crowd fully immersed in their endless jam. This gig—a standout tour moment—proved their mastery of live chaos and invention.
