In September 2024, Australian psychedelic rock band King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard—led by Stu Mackenzie and at the peak of their tour supporting albums like Flight b741 (2024)—performed at The Astro Amphitheater in Omaha, a 4,500-capacity open-air venue where their September 6 show became part of the North American leg. Captured professionally as the official bootleg Live in Omaha '24 (with soundboard mix and STEMs on Bandcamp), the performance caught the band at full strength: Amby Kenny-Smith and Cook Craig's guitar riffs backed Michael Cavanagh's drums, while Mackenzie's vocals added mad charm. Opening with the "I'm In Your Mind" medley, flowing through "Self-Immolate", "Motor Spirit", "Magenta Mountain", "Gilgamesh", "Set", and closing with "Hypertension"—a vivid example of their chaotic psychedelic groove with thrash elements. This gig—one of many 2024 bootlegs—proved their invention mastery.
