In May 2017, American rock band Kings of Leon—led by Caleb Followill and at the peak of their tour supporting Walls (2016)—performed at Radio 1's Big Weekend, BBC's annual festival at Burton Constable Hall in Hull, UK. Their set became one of the day's headlining moments alongside Lana Del Rey and Stormzy before 25,000 attendees. Captured in high quality for BBC webcast, the show caught the band at full strength: Matthew and Nathan Followill's guitar riffs backed Jared Followill's bass and Nathan's drums, while Caleb's vocals added emotional depth with southern charm. Running through "Waste a Moment", "The Bucket", "Reverend", "Sex on Fire", "Use Somebody", and "Walls"—a mix of stadium rock with melancholy and energy, with the crowd singing every chorus under British sun. This gig—a standout tour moment—proved their status as alternative rock kings.
