Machine Gun Kelly’s performance at Pinkpop 2023 turned into a rock spectacle, where his energy and charisma took over the festival stage. Held in Landgraaf, Netherlands, in June, the American artist, whose music blends punk rock, pop-punk, and hip-hop, delivered a set brimming with drive and emotion. Machine Gun Kelly, also known as Colson Baker, crafted an atmosphere where each riff felt like a call to freedom: his melodies, infused with a rebellious spirit, carried the crowd into a world where rock ‘n’ roll thrives. In 2023, he was promoting his album "Mainstream Sellout" (2022), which earned a nomination for a Billboard Music Award for Top Rock Album, and this set featured tracks from that record, showcasing his shift to pop-punk. Fans highlighted the powerful rendition of "Bloody Valentine," noting the infectious energy on stage. Interestingly, Machine Gun Kelly started as a rapper, but his genre switch in 2020 with "Tickets to My Downfall" brought him a new wave of popularity. Pinkpop, with its reputation as one of Europe’s oldest festivals, provided a fitting stage for this set, reflecting Machine Gun Kelly’s ability to captivate the crowd.
