Nickelback, those Canadians rocking post-grunge and hard rock since the late ‘90s, know how to get a crowd going. Their gig on June 5, 2006, at Pinkpop in Landgraaf, Netherlands, was all about giving it everything. Chad Kroeger sang with this gritty passion, his voice flipping from fierce to melodic, like it was cutting through the air. Ryan Peake’s guitars and Mike Kroeger’s bass built a wall of sound, with Daniel Adair’s drums adding the drive. On that open stage, the sound hit like an explosion, and the lights, shifting from red to white, played up the mood swings. The crowd was totally in sync, screaming and singing along, like we were all living this rock moment together.
