Parcels — Live Studio Session at La Frette Studios, Paris, France 2021

Australian five-piece Parcels settled into the legendary La Frette Studios outside of Paris for an intimate session as part of the 'Live From My Den' digital series. Recorded in 2021, the performance showcases the band's signature blend of disco-pop, funk, and soulful harmonies, a sound they've honed since their high school days in Byron Bay before relocating to Berlin. This set captures the band's exceptional musicianship, which has drawn comparisons to 1970s icons and even led to a collaboration with the legendary Daft Punk.

The performance leans heavily on tracks from their ambitious 2021 double album, 'Day/Night', including standout singles like 'Somethinggreater', 'Free', and 'Comingback'. Stripped of a live audience, the focus is purely on the intricate interplay between the musicians. The session reveals the tight-as-a-nut grooves and effortless cool that define Parcels' live shows. The setting at La Frette, a studio known for hosting iconic artists, provides a fittingly creative atmosphere for a band celebrated for their nostalgic yet contemporary sound, which they've aptly dubbed 'Cowboy Disco'. This performance is a perfect snapshot of a band in complete command of their craft, delivering a polished and deeply groovy studio set.
