In June 2016, German industrial-metal band Rammstein—known for provocative shows with pyrotechnics and theatricality on albums like Mutter (2001) and Zeit (2022)—performed at Pinkpop, Europe's oldest annual festival in Landgraaf, Netherlands. Their 90-minute main stage set became one of the festival's most memorable: fire columns, explosions, costumes, and mechanics backed Richard Kruspe's heavy riffs and Till Lindemann's vocals, with the crowd's chorus sparking total chaos. Featuring tracks like "Rammlied", "Du Hast", "Sonne", "Deutschland", and "Engel" (with fireworks and "angel" wings), this show solidified their shock-rock mastery, turning the festival grounds into an apocalyptic arena.
