In June 2016, American funk-rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers—at the peak of The Getaway World Tour supporting the self-titled album (2016), marking their return to melodic funk-rock with producer Danger Mouse after I'm with You—headlined Pinkpop, Europe's oldest annual festival in Landgraaf, Netherlands. Their hour-long main stage set, captured in high quality, embodied the European tour climax, where Josh Klinghoffer's guitar riffs merged with Flea's bass lines and Chad Smith's drum power, while Anthony Kiedis' vocal intensity sparked euphoria among tens of thousands under summer skies. Featuring tracks like "Can't Stop", "Californication", "Dark Necessities", and "Give It Away", this show highlighted their role as 90s–2000s alternative leaders, turning the festival grounds into a realm of collective unity.
