British pop icon Robbie Williams delivered a special, festive performance in the heart of London for the BBC Radio 2 in Concert series in late November 2019. Held in the intimate confines of the BBC Radio Theatre, this show offered a unique contrast to the massive stadium concerts for which Williams is famous, providing a close-up experience for the lucky audience.
The setlist was a delightful blend of holiday cheer and timeless classics. Williams performed several tracks from his then-newly released album, 'The Christmas Present,' including original songs like 'Time for Change' and covers of festive standards such as Slade's 'Merry Xmas Everybody.' He was joined on stage by his full band, including his longtime songwriting partner, Guy Chambers, adding to the rich musical tapestry of the evening.
Alongside the seasonal material, Williams didn't disappoint his longtime fans, rolling out a string of his most beloved hits. The crowd was treated to powerful renditions of 'Feel,' 'No Regrets,' and the iconic ballad 'Angels,' turning the cozy theatre into a massive singalong. This broadcast performance captured a master showman at his most charming, effortlessly bridging the gap between festive novelty and the enduring power of his pop anthems.
