In August 2024, German hard rock band Scorpions—founded in 1965 in Hanover and famed for stadium anthems like "Rock You Like a Hurricane" from Love at First Sting (1984)—celebrated the album's 40th anniversary with a dedicated tour, culminating in a set at Wacken Open Air, one of the world's largest metal festivals annually drawing over 80,000 fans to the village of Wacken, Lower Saxony. Their 90-minute performance, brimming with Rudolf Schenker’s classic riffs and Klaus Meine’s charisma, embodied the band's resilience after five decades onstage, fusing hard rock with orchestral flourishes to evoke collective catharsis under summer skies. This show, amid the anniversary trek, highlighted Scorpions' enduring appeal as genre pioneers, transforming the festival grounds into a realm of nostalgia and power.
