Simple Minds — Live Concert at The SSE Hydro, Glasgow, Scotland 2013

Returning to their Glasgow roots, Simple Minds delivered a triumphant homecoming performance at the newly opened SSE Hydro on November 27, 2013. This special concert, part of their 'Celebrate – The Greatest Hits+' tour, was the first to be filmed at the award-winning venue and was captured for the live album and film release 'Celebrate – Live at the SSE Hydro Glasgow'. The night was made even more memorable as it coincided with guitarist Charlie Burchill's birthday.

For a band intrinsically linked with the city, the show was a landmark event, drawing a global fanbase for what frontman Jim Kerr described as a moment to "add a little more history to our as yet never ending story". The expansive setlist was a journey through the band's rich history, featuring anthems like "Waterfront," "Promised You a Miracle," "Don't You (Forget About Me)," and "Alive and Kicking." With a career spanning decades, Simple Minds showcased their enduring power, blending post-punk energy with the soaring, atmospheric rock that made them stadium giants. The performance captured the band at a new peak, energized by the massive hometown crowd and the significance of the occasion.
