Returning to the hallowed grounds of Donington Park, Slipknot delivered a ferocious headlining performance at the UK's premier rock event, Download Festival, in 2019. This set marked the Iowa nine-piece's fourth time topping the bill at the legendary festival, and they unleashed a torrent of controlled chaos that solidified their reputation as masters of the stage.
The performance was a blistering showcase of their career, blending iconic fan-favorites with new material that was greeted with the same roaring approval as their classics. Kicking off with the explosive trio of "People = S**t," "(sic)," and "Get This," the band immediately set a relentless pace. The massive crowd was a sea of energy, erupting into huge circle pits and singing along to every word. This show was also a preview of a new era, as the band sported fresh masks ahead of their forthcoming album "We Are Not Your Kind." The setlist masterfully balanced aggression and melody, culminating in the traditional, chaotic ritual of the entire field getting down on the ground and jumping up during "Spit It Out," a moment of pure, unified mayhem.
