SOFI TUKKER performed at KEXP’s studio in Seattle on November 17, 2023, delivering a vibrant set recorded for radio and YouTube. Formed in New York in 2014 by Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern, the American duo rose to fame with "Treehouse" (2018), and here they played tracks from "Wet Tennis" (2022). Their sound mixes danceable beats, electronic layers, and Sophie’s spirited, playful vocals, blending house and pop with global rhythms. The live studio session pulsed with energy, as Halpern handled the electronics and Hawley-Weld layered vocal improvisations, showcasing their knack for bringing party vibes to an intimate space. "Wet Tennis" introduced a brighter, upbeat tone to their work, building on the Grammy-nominated "Treehouse." In the studio, they radiated charisma and synergy, enhancing the set with their interplay and motion. KEXP, a renowned radio station known for live sessions, offered a cozy setting: the minimalist studio and close camera work fostered a personal vibe. This performance, part of their 2023 tour, highlighted SOFI TUKKER’s ability to adapt their festival-ready energy to a studio environment. The session stood out for its effortless charm and expressive delivery.
