This footage captures SOJA (Soldiers of Jah Army) during a pivotal moment in their career, the 2006 album release party for their seminal record, "Get Wiser." Held on January 6, 2006, at The State Theatre in Falls Church, Virginia, this concert was a hometown celebration that showcased the band's raw energy and burgeoning power. The performance was so significant that it was recorded and later released as the "Get Wiser Live" DVD.
The Arlington-based band delivers a passionate performance, blending their signature mix of reggae with elements of rock, D.C. hardcore, and hip-hop. The setlist for the evening was special, featuring one set of older fan favorites followed by a complete, track-by-track performance of the new "Get Wiser" album. This video documents a band solidifying its sound and connecting deeply with its local fanbase before taking their message of unity and hope to a global stage. The raw, unfiltered quality of the recording offers an authentic glimpse into the intense and intimate atmosphere of SOJA's live shows from that formative era.
