In July 2025, at Baden in Blut Open Air, Germany's annual extreme metal festival in Weil am Rhein, Soulfly—the band founded by Max Cavalera after leaving Sepultura in 1996 and honing thrash/death metal with spiritual and warrior themes on albums like Prophet (2022)—delivered a full set previewing their tenth studio album "Chama." The 60-minute performance, driven by Cavalera's guttural roars and Mark Rizzo’s technical riffs, embodied the band's resilience, fusing percussive drive with growls to evoke collective catharsis among thousands under summer skies. As part of their European tour, this show underscored Soulfly's guardianship of Brazilian metal aggression, transforming the festival stage into a ritual of rebellion.
