Swedish garage rock titans The Hives unleash their signature high-voltage energy in this intimate and explosive performance at No Vacancy in Los Angeles. Recorded on May 10, 2023, for The SoCal Sound, the show captures the band just a few months before the release of their long-awaited album, "The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons." This setting, a stylish Hollywood bar, provides a unique, up-close contrast to the massive festival stages the band usually commands, putting their raw power and charisma on full display.
Famous for their matching black-and-white suits and relentless stage presence, The Hives deliver a set packed with both beloved classics and new material. Frontman Howlin' Pelle Almqvist is in top form, engaging the packed room with his trademark wit and swagger, while the band fires through hits like "Hate To Say I Told You So" and "Tick Tick Boom" with precision and ferocity. The performance also featured new tracks such as "Bogus Operandi" and "Rigor Mortis Radio," showcasing the fresh energy of their latest work.
This concert is a testament to why The Hives are consistently hailed as one of the best live acts in the world. Stripped of large-scale production, their pure, unadulterated rock and roll spirit shines through, proving that their electrifying performance can ignite any room, no matter the size.
