Brothers Brian and Michael D'Addario, the creative force behind The Lemon Twigs, bring their signature blend of retro-rock and theatrical flair to this 2024 live session for the ARTE music program, Ground Control, in Paris. Known for their deep reverence for 60s and 70s pop, the duo delivers a performance that is both a loving homage and a vibrant, modern spectacle. Their sound is a rich tapestry of influences, weaving together the harmonies of The Beatles and The Beach Boys with the glam energy of T-Rex and the intricate songwriting of Big Star.
This set captures the essence of their live shows: tight, flawless harmonies, complex arrangements, and an unpredictable, chaotic energy that feels completely intentional. The D'Addario brothers are magnetic performers, trading instruments and lead vocal duties with a casual virtuosity that belies their intricate musicianship. The performance is a whirlwind of power-pop hooks, baroque melodies, and glam-rock swagger, showcasing their ability to channel decades of rock history into something fresh and entirely their own. It’s a perfect snapshot of a band celebrated for its songwriting depth and wildly entertaining stage presence.
