Yeah Yeah Yeahs played the main stage of Corona Capital 2022 at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City on November 19. They went on at 8:10 p.m. in front of a crowd of more than 80,000. The New York band is Karen O on vocals, Nick Zinner on guitar and Brian Chase on drums. They had released Cool It Down, their first album in nine years, less than two months before. The set opens with its lead single “Spitting Off the Edge of the World,” and three more songs from the album follow: “Burning,” “Wolf” and “Blacktop.” The rest of the hour draws on earlier records, from “Black Tongue” and “Date with the Night” off their 2003 debut Fever to Tell to “Zero,” “Soft Shock” and “Heads Will Roll” from It’s Blitz! “Cheated Hearts” and “Gold Lion” also appear. Karen O speaks to the audience before “Maps,” and the band closes with “Heads Will Roll” and “Date with the Night.”
